Christmas Cake...

....As promised, doesn't look too bad does it? Smells good even though I do not like Christmas Cake! This recipe comes from Delia's Happy Christmas, p29, ISBN 978-0-091-93306-7, although I did buy the Christmas Cake in a Box kit from Waitrose as many of the ingrediants in this cake I will not use up. Funnily enough Delia is currently on Food Network UK as I type this making her Christmas Cake!

Look what the Postman brought...

Five lovely new cookbooks....yummy! Yes I'm addicted to cookbooks. They are Feast by Nigella Lawson, Bill's Everyday Asian by Bill Granger, Gordon's Great Escape: Southeast Asia by Gordon Ramsay, Mexican Food Made Simple by Thomasina Miers and Masterchef at Home Volume 2. So excited to start reading and cooking from these. I've not cooked anything by Bill Granger or Thomasina Miers before so looking forward to them. As you can tell from this lot I do like a lot of variety and flavour in my food.

Anyway keep your fingers crossed for me today, my Christmas Cake is currently cooking away in my oven, first one I've ever made. Hope it turns out okay, but I do have a very temperamental oven so we'll see. If it turns out okay I'll post a picture.
